The Reunion Jazz Orchestra has performed at Navy Pier Winter Wonderfest, Addison Days, Niles Family Funfest, Arlington Heights Unplugged, Cantigny Park Labor Day Festival, Mount Prospect Summer Veterans Bandshell Concerts, Art in the Barn, Good Shepherd Hospital Benefit Banquet, Collegiate Jazz Festival, Oak Street Beachstro, Del Webb Sun City, Glen View Club, Windsor Manor, and a variety of other benefits, dinners, and parties in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. In addition to their many single appearances, the RJO has reigned as the "house band" at the Sphinx Cafe in Niles, and Papa’s Pub in Roselle.

Music to a Dons Heart

A great day was had by all on Sunday, April 2 as the Reunion Jazz Orchestra (former Melodons) and the University of Notre Dame Jazz Band jammed here in the gym. Over 125 people attended the Mass and Brunch and they were joined by over 100 more jazz enthusiasts as the RJO and UND Jazz Band performed for nearly 2 hours. The afternoon was highlighted by the presentation of a $5,000 check to Notre Dame by the RJO to be used toward the purchasing of new instruments for the ND/Res Band. Notre Dame thanks the RJO for continuing to donate proceeds from its area performances to support our award-winning music program.

Special thanks go out to Don Ginocchio ‘77 for his efforts in helping to organize what we hope will be an annual event for NDHS. Thanks also to the many alumni who helped sponsor this entertaining occasion.
